BALDNESS & TRANSPLANT: THE PROTOCOL
Designed by Dr. Julie Pernet, Doctor of Pharmacy and certified Trichologist

Are your hairline and crown thinning over time? Is your hair thinning and thinning? Have you ever considered a hair transplant to counteract this hair loss?
You're probably suffering from male pattern baldness (or male androgenic alopecia). However, baldness in men isn't inevitable. It can be slowed, stabilized, and sometimes partially reversed if properly managed. Hair transplantation is also a solution.

I am Dr. Julie Pernet, Doctor of Pharmacy and certified Trichologist. I have supported hundreds of men before and after their hair transplants. I have designed specific protocols used in clinics today, with a clear objective:
➔ Maximize regrowth, protect grafts and slow hair loss.
Understanding Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA)

AGA is the most common form of hair loss in men, affecting nearly one in two men.
■ Caused by DHT, which gradually miniaturizes hair.
■ It evolves in stages (Norwood classification).
■ It can be slowed down by appropriate care and comprehensive management.
To go further, discover my Complete guide to male AAG.
When to consider a transplant?
A transplant is not the first step. It should only be considered when the hair loss has stabilized and there is sufficient donor area.

➔ I detailed this in a dedicated article: When to have a hair transplant?
What grafting cannot do

Hair transplants in men are not a miracle solution:
■ It does not block the loss of native hair.
■ It does not recreate the original density.
■ It may require several sessions depending on the stage.
It is therefore essential to understand the causes of AAG and to follow a post-transplant protocol to maximize its effects.
➔ Before any transplant, a hair assessment is essential. Carry out your online dermo-capillary diagnosis ou make an appointment with me for a personalized consultation.
Expected post-transplant results
Following a hair transplant, the results are visible after 3 months and the final result is observed after approximately 1 year.
■ First signs of regrowth: 3–4 months.
■ Optimal result: 9–12 months.
■ Durability: Transplanted hair lasts for life, but untransplanted hair must be protected.

Why a post-transplant protocol is essential
The transplant is just one step. 80% of the success depends on what you do afterward. Without proper care, inflammation, seborrheic dermatitis, and graft loss are common.
That's why I created a Post-Transplant Protocol which contains 4 complementary products to maximize hair transplantation.
It was co-developed with the Grand Paris Clinic, a renowned hair clinic for its unique expertise and quality monitoring.

Prepare your scalp BEFORE the transplant
A transplant will not work on an inflamed scalp. If you suffer from seborrheic dermatitis (SD) or scalp psoriasis (PSO), it is essential to treat these conditions before surgery.
This is why we have designed specific pre-transplant protocols to cleanse and soothe the scalp.

In conclusion
■ Baldness can be slowed down and stabilized.
■ Transplantation is an option, not a miracle solution.
■ True success relies on a comprehensive protocol before, during and after.
