When to have a hair transplant?
Hair transplantation is a serious option for treating baldness, but it is not the first step. It should only be considered when certain conditions are met: stabilized hair loss, sufficient donor area, and healthy scalp.

Recommended age for hair transplant
Most specialists advise waiting at least 25 to 27 years before considering a transplant.
Before this age, androgenetic alopecia can still progress rapidly, which may result in an uneven result with new bald areas after the procedure.
Stability of hair loss
A graft must be placed on stabilized ground.
This means having followed a medical or cosmetic treatment (anti-DHT, serums, supplements, lifestyle) to slow the progression of alopecia.
Without this, untransplanted hair will continue to fall out, leaving a sparse appearance despite the transplant.

Quality of the donor area
The density and quality of the hair in the nape of the neck determines the number of grafts available.
An insufficient donor area limits the feasibility and aesthetic result of a transplant.
Scalp condition
A graft does not take on a scalp in an inflammatory crisis.
Seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis or oily scales must be treated before any procedure.
A pre-transplant protocol is essential to clean up and prepare the ground.

In short
A hair transplant is only performed when:
-
baldness is stabilized,
-
the donor area is sufficient,
-
and that the scalp is healthy.
Otherwise, it is better to reinforce the ground upstream.
